SHIMAI are sisters Angharad and Rhiannon Griffiths from Newport, South Wales. The sisters joined musical forces in 2014 and try not to limit themselves to a specific genre when writing, but you can expect an indie folk influence.
The mesmerising sound of their unique sibling harmonies evokes a sense of emotion and nostalgia.
Between them they have over 12 years experience of live performance and have enjoyed playing various festivals and venues in Wales and England, one of the highlights being support for 90’s band Dodgy.
SHIMAI have been working on their first EP at Faster Studios which is released in May 2018, and are very excited to have James Dean Bradfield of The Manic Street Preachers playing on bass on three of their tracks.
